Lillian's Obituary
Lillian Sue Brooks, 60, of Shohola Falls, Pennsylvania, passed away at 11:51 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Lillian had recently moved to Lafayette to be near her daughter Sam who attends Purdue Veterinary School.
Lillian was born February 1, 1962, in Port Jervis, New York to the late Kenneth and Lucie (Rena) Brooks. She was a 1980 graduate of Delaware Valley High School in Milford, PA and later earned her Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Art Design from Kutztown University.
Her longtime marriage was to Stephen Husak; they later divorced.
Lillian owned and operated Universal Building Maintenance, a cleaning service, for over 20 years. She also did graphic design for several local newspapers and worked for Goodwill.
Lillian loved art and music. She was a wonderful and accomplished artist and took pride in playing the bassoon in the orchestra and singing in the choir. She enjoyed reading, hiking and skiing. Quiet times were filled with knitting, a hobby she passed on to her family; even volunteering to teach her son’s 3rd grade class. More than anything, she loved her family, especially her children Ian and Sam.
Surviving is her son, Ian Husak (partner: Abigail George) of Portland, Maine and her daughter, Sam Husak of West Lafayette.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in her home town in Pennsylvania.
