Linda's Obituary
Linda K. Pedigo, 73, of Lafayette, passed away at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Linda was born September 4, 1950 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Howard and Mary (Emerson) Martin. She attended Klondike High School where she met a young man that stole her heart, Roger Pedigo.
On June 25, 1966, Linda married Roger D. Pedigo in Lafayette. They were proud parents of Richard, Melinda, Troy and Chris. Linda and Roger would later divorce.
Linda worked two jobs for over 30 years, one at Purdue where she worked in the kitchen at Owen Hall. She oversaw and inspected rooms at Married Student Housing until her retirement after 38 years in September of 2022. An avid runner, Linda would often head to work at Purdue at 4:30 a.m. to run on campus before work. Linda also worked for JCPenney in the jewelry department helping others pick out the perfect gift; customers often waited to work with her. She enjoyed the friendships made at work and often joined the younger co-workers at Penney’s for concerts.
Linda enjoyed running, participating in the 5K’s offered at Purdue. After a battle with cervical cancer, Linda participated in all the cancer runs, often times with her daughter and granddaughters. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Linda was a sweet, kind and loving person who would help anybody in need; she also had no problem telling it to you straight.
Linda was a member of the Battle Ground United Methodist Church where she enjoyed going to church and the fellowship with her friends.
Surviving are her children, Richard Pedigo (wife: Karen) of Noblesville, Melinda Brown (husband: Tony) of Lafayette and Troy Pedigo of Brookston; a brother, Chester Martin (wife: Jennifer) of Colfax and two sisters, Carolyn Spikes of Otterbein and Betty McDill (husband: David) of Liberty. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Kayla, Kelsie, Chad, Chace, Makenna, Abby and Elin and her great-grandchildren, River, Forest, Owen, Carter and Sadie. Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their school activities and sporting events.
Preceding her in death with her parents, Howard & Mary, is a daughter, Chris Noerenberg and a sister, Mary Dunbar.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. (noon), Saturday March 30, 2024 at Battle Ground United Methodist Church (201 Tipton Street Battle Ground, IN); Pastor Sheri Rohrer to officiate. Entombment to follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery of West Lafayette.
