Ludwig W. Groen, 85, of Fowler, passed away at his home on Monday, May 2, 2022. He was born January 24, 1937 in a farm house located in Remington to the late Bernard and Meta (Ubbinga) Groen.
Ludwig was a 1955 graduate of Wadena High School. His marriage was to Janet Knapp on April 2, 1967 and she survives.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fowler and Illiana Power and Steam Show of Rainsville, IN. Ludwig farmed all of his life and was a seed dealer for Dekalb Hybrid Seeds. He loved farming which began at a young age, enjoyed tractor drives, and attending car shows.
Surviving along with his wife is their son, Neil (Terry) Groen of Lafayette; brother, Bernie (Carol) Groen of Tucson, AZ. Grandchildren, Edie (D.J.) Hall, Zachary Cole Groen, Lukas Groen, Joey Niccum, Austin Groen, Lane Groen, and Marcus Robertson.
Preceding him in death along with his parents is a daughter, Arlene.
Friends may call from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Fowler United Methodist Church. Rev. Mary Van Wijk to officiate. Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery.
