Marjorie M Flickner

Marjorie M. Flickner passed away peacefully at the Rensselaer Care Center Saturday morning September 29, 2018.

Marjorie was born November 17, 1932 in Rensselaer to Voris and Gertrude (Marlin) Walton. She graduated from Remington High School in 1950.

Her marriage was to James H. Flickner on August 6, 1950. They had four children: Linda (Scott) Arvin, Charles (Susie) Flickner, Anita (Daniel) Reed and Rhonda (John) Budzynski. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Marge was a member of Reading Club, Psi Iota Xi Sorority and many years president of the United Methodist Church Women’s group. She enjoyed her yard work and traveling. She was also a 37 year breast cancer survivor.

She worked at Jasper County Hospital in the surgery department, Secretary of the Rensselaer Public Library, Secretary of the Remington United Methodist Church, Secretary to Thomas G. Fisher Attorney and to Mike and Kathy O’Neall Attorneys.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Voris and Gertrude Walton, her husband Jim, and great-grandaughter Gabriella Culver.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Service will be held at the Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Remington on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Visitation will be 9:30am to time of Celebration of Life Service at 11am EDT by Pastor Jeff Smith. Interment will be at the Remington Cemetery.
