Martin Kim Longest

October 04, 1954 - April 15, 2021

Martin Kim Longest was born on October 4, 1954 and was called home on April 15, 2021… he knew where he was going. He is reunited in death with his Father, and one of his best friends, D. Gene Longest, his unequivocally loving Mother Faye Marie Longest, a granddaughter and several of the best dogs that ever existed.  He is survived by his brother & sister Michael and Denise and several nephews and nieces.  His legacy lives on through his sons and daughters-in-law Nolan & Lindsay and Joshua & Meagan and his grandchildren (his pride and joy) Carlee Renea Longest, Wynnie Marie Longest and Waylon Gene Longest.  He went by many names including Pops, Grandpa Marty, Old Dog, and some not suitable for print.  Marty loved his family with a fierceness that few could comprehend, and he passed some of that ferocity to his children.  He loved to brag about his amazing grandchildren even though he was completely unbiased.  He hated social media, cell phones and anything that took people’s attention away from the world that was happening right in front of their face.  Though his physical heart was broken, his spiritual heart was full of love for those close to him.  He enjoyed playing guitars, shooting guns, playing cards, telling stories (some of which were true), spending time with those he loved, and he prided himself on living a simple life. We recognize Dad’s objections to the length and contents of this obituary, and we have considered them and they have been summarily overruled.  There will be a private celebration of life for close family and friends.
