Mary Dilts - Grace, age 94 of Brookston, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Fan and Asher Dilts of Brookston, an older brother Edmond age 4, her brother Jack Dilts in 1956 and her husband Ralph O. Grace in 1986. Mary and Ralph were married 37years.
Mary leaves behind her daughters; Suzanne Grace, her daughters Ali and husband Luke McConville and their three children, Maggie, Jack and Emma. Suzanne's youngest daughter Jillian and her husband Charles Hagenbush. All of whom live near Lafayette. Also, Mary's youngest daughter Mary Lee and husband Bruce Lord, and their sons Douglas Lord, of Ft. Wayne and Phillip Lord and wife Jessica of Maryland.
Mary and Ralph played Bridge with great friends. They golfed and were very good at both. Mary was an amazing knitter and cook. She always made beautiful holiday dinners and made Christmas wonderful for all of us. Her great grandchildren jokingly called her, Your Honor, because she would boss them. She made us laugh! The family has been affiliated with Brookston United Methodist Church and would especially like contributions given to their FOOD PANTRY. Mary and Ralph would wish for all people to have food during these hard times. Ralph starved as a POW in Germany and both lived through the Great Depression. Our family wishes that all people in America would work together as our nation's Greatest Generation did in the WWII war effort.
Per Mary’s wishes, a private family service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery of West Lafayette; Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds, a long-time family friend, will officiate. Entombment to follow next to her husband Ralph.
