Michael L.'s Obituary
Michael L. “Mick” Yoder, 71, of Monticello, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Mick was born October 1, 1953, in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Donald and Beatrice (Whitaker) Yoder. He was a 1972 graduate of Frontier High School.
Mick was a truck driver and farmer for many years.
Mick had a way to heckle or poke fun at people but in a kind and loving way, when he did that to you it meant you were his friend. Above all, Mick loved his family and enjoyed providing them the things he thought they needed, even if it wasn’t what they wanted… He truly was a provider and caretaker of them all. Mick also enjoyed visiting with his friends while wintering with Lisa in Okeechobee, Florida.
Surviving is his longtime companion, Lisa Werline; his two children, Kerry Yoder (Arrika) of Lafayette and Lorin Werline of Monticello; his grandchildren, Kloe, Collins, Griffin and Cru; his siblings, Tony Yoder (Karen), Randy Yoder (Karen), Kevin Yoder, Mark Yoder (Julie), Sidonna Reed (Mike), Nadine Steere, Scott Steere (Leah) and Thomas Steere (Lori) and a sister-in-law, Faith Yoder.
Preceding him in death with his parents are two brothers, Max and Terry Yoder.
A celebration of his life will be held from 5-9 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at Kaminsky Park Kart Circuit (12449 West 775 North, Monticello, IN 47960).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crystal Creek Kennels of Battle Ground.
