Nancy Christopher, 85, of Wolcott, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at St. Mary’s Healthcare Center of Lafayette. She was born March 9, 1936 in Kendallville, IN to the late Donald and Mary (Ross) Hoon. Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Mt. Aire High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Ball State University in 1957.
Her marriage was to Wayne “Whitey” Christopher in 1959. Whitey preceded her in death on November 3, 2012.
Nancy was a long-time member of the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church. She taught at the Wolcott Elementary School for many years as a first-grade teacher until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, loved flowers especially African Violets.
She is survived by her two sons, Brad Christopher of Richmond, VA and Anthony “Tony” Christopher of Wolcott. Siblings, Donald Hoon of Houston, TX, Judy Stark of Michigan City, IN, Karla Bahler of Wolcott, Jerry (Lorreen) Hoon of Brook, IN, Pam Parker of Hawaii, Amy (Sid) Lydon of Fort Wayne, IN, and Angie Justice of Indianapolis, IN.
Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents are two siblings, Ed Hoon and Debbie Hoon.
Friends may call 9:30 – 10:30 AM (EST) Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM (EST). Ministers of the church to officiate. Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy’s name to Multiple Sclerosis Society or Salvation Army.
