Norma Jean Wayne, 90, of Monon, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Parkview Haven of Francesville, IN. Norma had been in failing health for the past 6 years.
She was born July 5, 1931 in Michigan City, IN to the late Harry and Marie (Morgan) Lidke. Norma was a 1948 graduate of Monon High School. Her marriage was to Harry Delos Wayne on January 13, 1951 in Monon. Harry preceded her in death on January 12, 2002.
Norma worked at Bryans of Monticello but mostly was a homemaker. She loved raising their three children. Norma loved anything to do with her dogs, crafting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her yard and garden, attending summer fairs and festivals, and visiting Walt Disney World in Florida.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Virgil) Von Tobel of Rensselaer, IN, Nancy Kesler of South Whitley, IN, and Harry Eugene Wayne of Monon, IN. Two grandchildren, Jennifer Ping of Delphi, IN and Vincent Von Tobel of Rensselaer, IN. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Riley Von Tobel, Sarah Von Tobel, Allison Von Tobel, Landon Von Tobel, and Shelby Ping.
Norma is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Friends may call from 10 AM (EST) until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM (EST) Monday, January 24, 2022 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon. Interment to follow in Monon Cemetery.
