Richard Dwayne Bailey

Richard D. Bailey, 71, of Knox, Indiana, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side.

Richard was born on Tuesday, January 29, 1952, in Knox, Indiana to Bill and Loretta (Joseph) Bailey.

On August 22, 1989, in Knox, Indiana he married Tina M. (Rowe) Bailey.  She died Saturday, February 22, 2022.

Richard was born and raised Knox, Indiana and attend the North Judson High School. He worked for several years for Obrick trailers of Knox, Indiana working on brakes on semi-trucks.  He then went onto work for the Yogi Bear Campground in Plymouth, Indiana as grounds and maintenance. Richard also did maintenance for the Plymouth Walmart for years.  He was known for collecting Studebaker memorabilia, owning several different models and collectables over the years. Richard was definitely known for being the duct tape king, everything could be fixed by duct tape. He also was a Dodge person, every vehicle ever owned had to be Dodge.  Richard was silly from morning till night and never stopped telling jokes. Most of all he loved spending time with family, and his grandbabies were his life. Richard was very family oriented.

Richard is survived by his Two (2) Daughters, Kimberly "Kim" (husband Alex) Nzabakira of Niles, Michigan, and Samantha "Sammy" Eskridge of Knox, Indiana; Seven (7) Grandchildren, Derrick Nzabakira of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Debrian Nzabakira of Niles, Michigan, Dalexo Nzabakira of Niles, Michigan, Darence Byaruhanga of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Darius Byaruhanga Berrien Springs, Michigan, Dalex Byaruhanga, and  Daclaudia M. Byaruhanga both of Niles, Michigan;  Six (6) Brothers, Roger (wife Danna) Bailey of North Judson, Indiana, Terry (wife Connie) Bailey of North Judson, Indiana, Bruce Bailey, Sr. of DeMotte, Indiana, Keith (wife Connie) Bailey of Monterey, Indiana, Gary (wife Jackie) Bailey of Kewanna, Indiana, and Harold (wife Susie) Bailey of North Judson, Indiana, One (1) Brother-in-law, William Edward "Billy" (wife Melanie) Rowe, Jr. of Plymouth, Indiana; several other Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Richard was preceded in death by, wife Tina M. (Rowe) Bailey, parents, Bill and Loretta (Joseph) Bailey, brothers, Billy Ray Bailey, Doug Bailey, Earl Bailey, sister, Linda Williams.

Gathering of family and friend will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m., (EDT), Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Word of Faith Church, 3420 N. US 35, Winamac, Indiana, 46996.

Celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), Saturday, September 2, 2023, Celebration of Life Service will be at the Word of Faith Church, 3420 N. US 35, Winamac, Indiana, 46996 with Rev. Rick Helton officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Oak Park Cemetery, of Knox, Indiana.

Memorials may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or can be mailed to 6368 E. US 24, Monticello, Indiana 47960.
