Richard "Dick" Goddard Sr.

July 17, 1938 - November 07, 2025

Richard “Dick” Lee Goddard Sr., 87 of Ozark, MO, formally a lifetime resident of Newton County, Indiana was surrounded by his family as his Heavenly Father called him home on November 7, 2025. Dick was the middle son of Gerald and Madonna (Roush) Goddard, born on July 17, 1938 in Morocco, Indiana.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Deanna; his parents, Gerald and Madonna; his infant son, Tommy; his younger sister, Joy Goddard; his older brother, Bob Goddard; and his son-in-law, Scott, the beloved husband of his daughter, Sheri. Dick is survived by his brother Dave (Charlotte) Goddard of Anderson, IN, children Shawn Meyers of Schneider, IN, Sheri Flick of Ozark, MO, Richard Goddard Jr. (Melissa) of Ozark, MO, Jennifer Shaw (Mikel) of Morocco, IN, and Samantha Goddard of Mocksville, NC; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

God made Dick a farmer who spent his life rising before the sun, tending his fields with pride, nurturing and loving his garden, his children, and his grandchildren. He was a provider, always doing what it took to put his family first, even giving up his dream of farming to put in 35 years at the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights, IL, before retiring and returning to farm the land he loved.  A man who was always ready for a good game of cards, a day spent fishing on the lake or cheering on his beloved Chicago Bears and Purdue Boilermakers. He spent 65 years loving his wife, Deanna, and building a life with her that they loved and cherished. A man of strong faith, he instilled in his children his certainty of his salvation so that when the fields grew quiet, and his long day's work was done, they would take comfort in knowing that it was the Lord who’d called his farmer back home to Him.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland, Indiana. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with funeral services directly following at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will then be held at Lake Village Cemetery in Lake Village, Indiana.
