Richard Gerald Hawk

November 20, 1939 - April 01, 2026

Richard Gerald Hawk, 86, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born in Curwensville, Pennsylvania.

Richard was a faithful and genuine follower of Jesus, a devoted husband of 66 years to his wife, Pat, and a man who deeply loved his family. Those who knew him saw that love lived out every day. He was also a committed and respected leader in his church, known for his humility, kindness, and steady faith.

He was the last remaining of eight children. He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Albert.

He is survived by his wife, Pat and children: Robin (Jim Walsh), Lori, and Krista (Emanuel Rivera), along with his grandchildren: Torre (Andrew Farmer), Shayna (Andrew Pearson), Jaron Walsh (Emily), Camryn (McCade Riggle), and Brady Walsh; and his great-grandchildren: Drew, Kylar, Bailey, Jordyn, Kobli, Haven, Maverick, Danny, and Denver.

Throughout his life, Richard worked as a master mechanic, building and running a successful auto repair shop through hard work, determination, and skill despite having only an eighth grade education. He also built his own home with his own hands, a reflection of both his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. Even in retirement, his faith continued to lead him outward—serving as an urban missionary in Newark, New Jersey, and teaching mechanical skills to men in a Teen Challenge recovery program. His strong hands reflected a strong work ethic, but they were just as quick to offer kindness, care, and encouragement to others.

Richard was well loved and admired by many. He had a gentle, kind spirit and a way of making people feel seen and valued. He was generous with his hugs and handshakes, and people were always better for having spent time with him. His life was marked by humility, faithfulness, and a steady love for others that reflected the Jesus he followed. He didn’t just work hard—he loved well.

His life was a quiet but powerful example of what it means to love well and follow Jesus faithfully.
