Robert Lloyd Budde

Robert Lloyd Budde, 92, of Remington, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born August 6, 1929 in Grant Township, Newton County, Indiana to the late William and Maria (Schwengel) Budde. He was the youngest of 9 children. Robert was a 1947 graduate of Remington High School.  

Robert proudly served in the United States Army from October of 1951 until his honorable discharge in September of 1953. His marriage was to Marceline Rae Strain on July 3, 1951 in Reynolds. Marceline preceded him in death on September 9, 2017.  

Robert was a lifelong farmer, farming the family ground from 1953 until his retirement. He enjoyed riding old trains and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  

Surviving are his two sons, Dale (Terri) Budde of Remington and Brian (Amy) Budde of Indianapolis; sister, Laurene MyKrantz of Remington. Grandchildren, Kassie, Matthew, Vernon, Marcy, Paul, Caci, Shelby, Mila, Kensley, and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.  

Preceding him in death along with his wife and parents are son, Alan Budde; sisters, Ruth Fridell, Hilda Berndt, Henrietta Medley, Ada Mroch, Frieda Holley, Margaret Downen, and a brother, Harold Budde.  

Friends may call from 9 AM (CST) until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM (CST) Saturday, November 6, 2021 at St. Luke Lutheran Church (704 E. Grace St. Rensselaer, IN 47978). Pastor Mark Cohen to officiate. Interment to follow in Remington Cemetery with military honors. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
