Robert Stephen Dawson passed away October 11, 2021. He was born November 21, 1957 in Lafayette, IN. The eldest of four sons of Francis Albert Dawson and Ruth Avis (smith-deceased). He is survived by brother, David William wife Linda (Gilley) nieces Melissa A. (David Dick) Ayden J. Brodaryk B., niece Dana N. Dawson (Kevin Bates) London N. Bates (deceased) Keaton Bates; brother Edward Joseph; brother James Matthew wife Shanna (Henninger) nephew Kevin F. and nieces Mallory J. and Nadia R.
Robert grew up in West Lafayette and moved with the family to Maryland in 1974 and then again in 1976 to Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington campus in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He began his career with the IRS in Covington, KY. He was hired by the City of Cincinnati and progressed through various responsibilities. He retired in 2017 as Senior Programmer Analyst with Cincinnati/Hamilton County Crime Information Center.
He enjoyed the extended family holiday gatherings and looked forward to the annual trip East. Interests included social gaming with family, fishing trips, science fiction and Rocketry, electronic gadgets, and being an early adopter of technology.
Visitation will be Friday, November 12, 2021, 10:00 AM (CST) with memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM (CST), Trinity United Methodist Church, (22775 W. 1500 S, Kentland, IN 47951). Burial at Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Preschool Scholarship Fund at Westwood United Methodist Church (3460 Epworth Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45211).
