Ronald's Obituary
Ronald Jacob Getz, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Lafayette on February 24, 2026. Born on March 19, 1944, in Rensselaer, he was the beloved son of the late Phil and Eliza (Bahler) Getz.
In 1972, Ronald married Gloria “Jean” McNally in Phoenix, AZ, and she survives him. Together, they built a loving family with their three sons, Dan, Chad, and Travis, all residing in Lafayette. Ronald is also survived by his brother, Eldon R. (LaVonne) Getz of Wolcott.
He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Lucille Steffen, Kathryn Beer, Willis Getz, Maurice Getz, Marilyn Bahler, and Bonita Getz.
Ronald was a member of the West Lafayette Apostolic Christian Church and the Local 274 Labor Union. He worked as a laborer in construction, contributing to the building of structures and bridges. In his leisure time, Ronald enjoyed watching basketball, attending auctions, and fishing.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM (EST) until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 AM (EST) on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Remington Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Remington Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
