Russell L. Winger

Russell L. Winger, 72, of Wolcott, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his home. He was born December 10, 1950 in Lafayette to the late Richard and Anna (Walters) Winger. Russell was a 1969 graduate of Wolcott High School.

He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1971 until his honorable discharge in 1976.

His marriage was to Martha Foulks on November 20, 1971 in Monticello and she survives.

Russell was a dairy farmer for most of his life, also raising beef cattle. He later would become a certified financial planner and crop insurance agent. Later in life, Russell developed an interest in organic farming. He loved spending time with his family and fellowship with his church family.

Surviving along with wife are two sons, Matthew L. Winger of Peoria, IL, and Greg A. Winger of Wolcott, IN. Siblings, Wayne E. (Gloria) Winger of Walkerton, IN, Dianne (Jim) Reeder of Chesterton, IN, and Mary Ann Winger of West Lafayette, IN. Russell is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anna Winger.

Friends may call from 9 AM (EST) – 12 PM (EST) Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church. A Graveside Service will be held following the visitation at Wolcott Cemetery.
