Sarah Jane Fields, 79, of Wolcott, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Rensselaer Care Center.
She was born at home on August 8, 1939 in rural Benton County, Indiana, to Benjamin “Lewis” and Virginia (Basford) Sutton.
Sarah graduated from Gilboa High School, class of 1957.
Her first marriage was to Raymond W. Allie I. They had three children. She was later married to Harold "Dean" Fields.
Sarah worked at Indiana Ribbon, Inc. for over 40 years, and then went to work for Dwyer Instruments, Inc. Working was important to Sarah, and she enjoyed the many people she worked with through the years. Her most cherished pleasure, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Surviving are her children, daughter Brenda Allie, currently residing in Glendale, AZ, Raymond W. Allie II, of Wolcott and Andrew L. Allie, also of Wolcott.
Also surviving are grandchildren Shawn Allie of Wolcott, Kurtis Allie of Remington, Ashley Allie of Wolcott, Emily Allie, of Wolcott, great-grandson Grayson Lee German and Sarah's brother David Sutton (Leann), of Wolcott.
Sarah was preceded in death by Raymond Allie I, Harold "Dean" Fields, her parents Benjamin and Virginia Sutton, and siblings, Bertha Nottingham, Lorena Poindexter, James Sutton, Benjamin "Benny" Sutton, Joshua “Ewing” Sutton, and Robert Sutton.
We would also like to acknowledge Jennifer Myers, who has always been not just a beloved neighbor, but a dear friend to Sarah. Thank you, Jennifer.
A visitation will be held from 4-7 PM (EST) Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott. A private family inurnment will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Monticello at a later date.
