Sharon Hofmeyer

Sharon “Sherry” (Diedam) Hofmeyer, age 65, of Fowler passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at St. Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was born on May 17, 1961 to the late John R. and Joanne (Griffis) Diedam, Sr.  

Sherry was a 1979 graduate of South Newton Jr. – Sr. High School. She worked at Viskase Corporation in Kentland for many years.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and she was an avid fan of the Fighting Illini – University of Illinois.  

Sherry’s greatest love of life were her children, grandchildren, family and friends.  She had a love for all animals, especially stray cats.  She had a soft spoken presence with many friends.  Because of her gentle nature and social warmth, she made friends wherever she went.   

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joanne (Griffis) Diedam, her brother, Jim Diedam, granddaughter, Falon Hofmeyer, and Lindsey Stanton.  She is survived by her children, Beth Hofmeyer, Travis Hofmeyer, Zachary Hofmeyer (Tasha), Casey Hofmeyer, Christina Jones (Parry), and Charlene Hofmeyer (Lindsay), and 11 deeply loved grandchildren.  Additional survivors include her siblings, John Diedam (Jani), Diane Shaw (Neal), Mary Kaltreider (Ron), Deb Diedam, Mike Diedam (Monica), Terry Honn (Ken), Steve Diedam (Maria), Ann Diedam, Sandy Templin, and several loved nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST at the Kentland Depot, 2911 W 1500 S, Kentland, IN 47951.
