Steven Douglas Thomerson, 32, died in his home on July 1, 2021. He was born on December 29, 1988 and is the son of Leanna Turcheck (John Turcheck) and Glenn Douglas Thomerson, SR. He was a CNC Lathe machinist who took pride in his line of work and enjoyed doing what he loved. He was most recently employed at Wastequip Manufacturing, a job which he was ecstatic to receive. He loved good music, taking his children on hikes, hot rods, and spending time with his friends and family around a fire with a cold beer. He was a member of the Competition Orange Mustang Registry. His beloved 2004 GT 40th edition anniversary mustang was registered as number 0474. He loved working on his car, making it better, faster, and louder than his sister’s black 2009 GT California Special. But, above all, Steven took the most pride in his two children. The bond that he shared and the wisdom and memories he instilled on his babies will never be forgotten. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Douglas Thomerson, Sr., his grandfather, Glenn Ellis Thomerson and his brother in law Ricky Frye, Jr. Surviving Steven is his wife, Allison Michelle Thomerson and their daughter Ella Presley Kay Thomerson, of Maryville, Tn, his son, Skyler James Thomerson and son’s mother, Whitney Craven, of Independence, IN, his mother and step father Leanna and John Turcheck, of Greenback, Tn, his sister, Tonya Frye Johnson (Steven Johnson), and nieces and nephews, Baylee and Tanner Morrow, Lillee and Callee Frye, of Dickson, Tn. Surviving grandparents include Ed and Mary Weast, of Wildomar, California, Bruce and Connie Hurst, of Lafayette, IN, and Julia Thomerson, of Dayton, OH. Also surviving him are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from all over the place, including Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, California, Ohio. He was a man who was loved by many.
The family will start receiving family and friends at the chapel at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens, Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at 12:30pm with a celebration of his life to start at 1:30pm. Anyone who wishes to go with the immediate family to the gravesite for a last prayer, poem, and to say your final goodbyes is welcome. He will be laid to rest with his father. There will be a meal provided at Steven’s grandparents, Bruce and Connie Hurst’s. If you wish to join them in the celebration of Steven’s life, there will be food, music, and fireworks to light the sky with our love.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for Steven’s children. Additionally, we are also asking if you feel called to give to a charity or organization instead, that you would give in Steven’s name to suicide prevention or mental health awareness. Steven will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, and even though he took his life, we know he is at rest, without pain now.
Above all the family is asking for prayers for his children, their mothers, and his whole family.
