Timothy's Obituary

Timothy Paul Drerup passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2023. Timothy was born September 8, 1994 in Rochelle, Illinois the first of 7 children to Daniel and Amber (Oleson) Drerup.

Timothy was born an old soul and a free spirit; he was always ready for an adventure! He was fearless and filled with joy. When Timothy was just 4 years old he packed snacks into a bag and took his little brother for a 13 acre hike. He was a great big brother and he and his siblings spent more time outside than in, no matter the season. Playing capture the flag as a family in the neighborhood or building epic snow forts, the Drerup children definitely made many memories outside!

Timothy loved his family and friends, both new and old, wholly and unconditionally. He would drop anything for a friend in need. He had more than one best friend and if you were a best friend, there is not only a story behind your friendship but an adventure or two! Timothy and one of his best friends Andrew Dyer rode their bikes all over Tippecanoe county, climbing trees and canoeing down rivers—without either mother knowing the extent of their journeys!

Timothy graduated from Lafayette Central Catholic Jr. - Sr. High School in 2013. Timothy was always up to try something new and in his short life he played pretty much every sport for at least one season. Timothy honed his persuasive skills by participating in the mock trial and even tested his acting talent when he played Hugo in the musical, Bye Bye Birdie. He attended Saint Joseph’s College long enough to leave with lifelong friends.

Timothy and one of his best friends Sabrina Palmer went on an epic journey from Lafayette, Indiana to Port Angeles, Washington, stopping at every landmark and roadside attraction they could fit into their trip to buy his mom a magnet. He lived in Washington for about a year, even working for the Rygaard logging company for a short time before returning home to Indiana.

Timothy's intelligence allowed him to work in more than one technical field. He could fix or build anything he wanted to and if he didn’t know how, he would figure it out. His current career at Aquarius Pools & Spas was no exception; he was definitely a valued employee. He was a huge part of the service department, his titles were Certified Pool Operator (CPO) & pool and spa service technician. He wasn't afraid to work on anything and even did some of the commercial pool plumbing and design.

Timothy met his soul mate and partner Skylar Neely in late 2019 and they became fast friends. It didn't take long for Timothy to realize he loved Skylar so he asked her to be his girl just as the pandemic hit and from then on, they were inseparable. Together they were raising two cats.

Timothy was always an animal lover but he didn't become a cat dad until he got his son Stryker and then Sox. He truly considered them his sons and he was the best dad. Timothy spoiled them and took more photos of them than any human in his life.

Timothy is survived by his soul mate and partner Skylar Neely; his parents Daniel and Amber Drerup; his siblings Matthew (Caitlin), David, Joseph, MaryAnn, Luke and Elijah and niece Cecilia; paternal grandparents David and Mary Kathleen Drerup; maternal aunt Megan (James) Hiatt, aunt Chelsea Navarro and numerous cousins.

Timothy was preceded in death by his uncle Scott Drerup, his aunt Beth Drerup, maternal grandparents Earla Ann Horton Myers and Larry Gilbert Oleson.

Timothy loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved and was loved by so many!  Timothy was the best friend, uncle, brother, son, grandson, and partner. He will be greatly missed!
