Violene Frances Cox

Violene Frances (York) Cox of Trinity, NC

Frances passed away November 7, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.  She was born July 13, 1935 in Perry County Kentucky to Stanley and Nora (Brock) York.  She graduated in 1953 from Pine Township High School, Otterbein, Indiana.  She married Francis E. Cox on December 26, 1953 (deceased, 1989).  They had two children Michael Cox of Dalzell, SC and Brenda Knebel (Kent) of San Antonio, Texas.  She worked at Farmers Home Administration in South Carolina for many years.

  She enjoyed a full and happy life.  In retirement she enjoyed restoring Chatty Cathy dolls, traveling, and reading.  Her favorite author was Danielle Steele. 

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her in-laws Jim and Ruby Cox, grandson, Lynwood Cox and granddaughter, Mary Ann Cox, sister Helen Morgan and neice Julia Sue Ohman. 

 She is survived by grandsons, Steven Cox (Amy), Brent Engelhardt (Cindy), and Kevin Knebel, great grandchildren Hunter, Andrew, and Maria Cox and Hanna and Holly Engelhardt, sister Sue Ohman (Doyle), Indiana, brother David York (Kathy), Indiana nephews David, Dan Morgan, Greg and Chris Ohman, Russel and Owen York, nieces Lori Leverton, Teresa Colaianne, and Emily York and several special cousins.

  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Stroke association or a charity of your choice.

Friends may call from 11 AM (EST) until the time of funeral service 12 PM (EST) Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Remington. Pastor Tom Bennett to officiate. Interment to follow in Mount Gilboa Cemetery of Fowler.
