Wanda's Obituary
Wanda L. Standish, 86, of Brook, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in Monticello, Indiana. Wanda was born May 3, 1936 in Newton County, Indiana to the late Earl and Mary (Parrish) Storey. Wanda married Ernest “Ernie” Standish of Brook on February 24, 1954, in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Ernie preceded her in death, April 5, 2007.
Wanda attended Morocco high school and raised 5 boys in Brook, Indiana. She loved her sons and her extensive family. Wanda was a hard worker, great cook, and she loved God. She had a gift for sharing her faith and teaching Godly principles to live by.
Survivors include four sons, Earl (Cathy) Standish of Zionsville, IN, Jason Standish of Brook, IN, Mathew Standish of Denver, CO, and Corey Standish (Lisa Weatherholt) of Monticello, IN.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ken Standish and a daughter, Amber Standish, and two sisters, Donna Willis and Patricia Welch.
Private family graveside service will be held at the Oakland Cemetery in Morocco. Dr. Chauncey Lattimer to officiate. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Brook, IN.
