William D. "Wally" Cox

William D. “Wally” Cox, 73, of Monticello, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Born on January 31,1953, in Monticello, Indiana, Wally was the son of the late Richard Dean Cox and Alice Jean (Million) Cox. A lifelong resident of Monticello, he graduated from Twin Lakes High School and spent his life in the community he called home. He retired from McGill’s after many years of dedicated work.

Wally was a simple, private man who found joy in life’s quiet moments. He enjoyed playing guitar and listening to music. He had a special love for cats and treasured his time spent with his great nieces, who brought him much happiness.

One of Wally’s greatest sources of pride was his membership with AA. The friendships, strength, and support were very meaningful to him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home, Monticello from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service celebrating Wally's life at 1:00 p.m. 

Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. cemetery in Monticello.
