Obituary
Tracy L. Holderfield, 68, of Monticello, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023, in the I.U. Arnett Hospital of Lafayette, Indiana.
Tracy was born on Monday, December 20, 1954, in Lafayette, Indiana to Ernest T. and Sandra J. (Rardon) Holderfield. They preceded him in death.
On August 17, 1974, in Lafayette, Indiana in the St. Boniface Church, he married Teri L. Hawk. She survives.
Tracy was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana and was a 1973 graduate of Jefferson High School. He worked for Rea Magnet Wire of Lafayette, Indiana for many years. Tracy then moved to Monticello in 1988 and started working for the former BevPak Ball Corporation of Monticello, retiring in December 2015. Tracy and his wife started spending their winters in Fort Myers, moving there in November 2019. He most recently moved back to Monticello, two weeks ago. Tracy was a huge NASCAR fan and enjoyed golf. Tracy had a passion for his yard, and it always looked better than the golf course. He was an avid Purdue sports fan. When he was able, he enjoyed fishing and his favorite place was down at Teri's aunt and uncles in Georgia. He loved listening to the Blues and enjoyed playing the harmonica. Tracy and Teri traveled often to Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and anywhere there was a beach. He was known for his huge smile and his ability to crack jokes. Tracy's biggest pride and joy was his kids and grandkids. He was an exceptionally good husband, father, and grandfather.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Teri L. Holderfield of Monticello, Indiana, daughter Amy S. Holderfield of Monticello, Indiana, son, Shaughn (wife Carmen) Holderfield of Buffalo, Indiana, grandchildren, Shelby Lauren (fiancé Michaiah Galvin) Diggs, Preston Trace Holderfield, Fred Leroy Rashaw IV, Kirkland Sabe Holderfield, and Amyiah Shaughn Rashaw, sister, Debbie K. Holderfield, brothers, Lloyd Holderfield, Dale (wife Kelly) Holderfield, and Brad Holderfield, sister-in-law, Cheryl Calhoun, special cousins, Michael (wife Jo Ann) Mahlke, and David (wife Krisn) Mahlke, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Tracy was preceded in death by his, parents, Ernest T. and Sandra J. (Rardon) Holderfield, sister, Kittie J. Farrell, nephew, JC Farrell, mother-and father-in-law, Preston and Marjorie Hawk, brother-in-law, Robert Calhoun, Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 12:00 (noon) to 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana.
Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 26,2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana with Jason Metzinger officiating.
