Cindie L. Gosnell, 63, of Brookston, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 from her battle with cancer.

  She was born September 18, 1954 in Pittsfield, Illinois to the late Neville D. and Joyce (Thornberry) Gosnell.  Cindie was a 1972 graduate of Frontier High School, a 1976 graduate of Purdue University in Speech and Hearing and was a member of the Shoemaker Cooperative, where she met her good friend Rhonda.  Cindie went back for a second Bachelors of Science from Purdue in Computer Science graduating in 2000. 

  Ms Gosnell worked at Purdue University in International Programs in Agriculture as a Development Specialist.  She was the Web Communication Specialist in the Multimedia Unit of the Department of Agricultural Communication where she was responsible for website maintenance and end-user support .  Prior to that she worked in the College of Agriculture’s Agriculture Information Technology Department (AgIT) for 5 years on the development team and prior to that 11 years in the Instructional Data Processing Center. 

  While at Purdue she spent most lunch hours with another good friend, Robin Brown.  The pair spent lunches walking while Cindie talked about plans during retirement.

  While Cindie was an accomplished web designer and spent her days working in modern technology, she never owned a cell phone or home computer; she much preferred Craftsman style homes and architecture and the simpler days of well built, quality construction.  She enjoyed touring historical homes and even took a woodworking class.  Cindie was small in stature but mighty in will; she had a great sense of humor and a warm heart for others. 

While on hospice, Cindie was cared for by her friend Rhonda Leckrone (husband: Mike) at their home.  Cindie and Rhonda would joke that they were roommates once again, just like their college days. 

  Surviving are Cindie’s two best friends, Rhonda Leckrone (husband: Mike) and Robin Brown (husband: Mike).

  Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home (101 West 4th Street  Brookston, IN); Rev. Chris Dodson to officiate. 

  Memorials may be made in her name to the Brookston Public Library.
