Elsie J. Minick, 74, of Remington, passed away at 1:45 AM, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Franciscan Health Hospital of Rensselaer.

She was born May 13, 1943 in Goodland to the late Charles “Earl” and Delores Hoaks. Elsie attended Goodland High School.

Her marriage was to Jesse Minick on April 24, 1982 in the Methodist Church of Goodland; he survives.

Elsie worked several years at both Capitol Products of Kentland and Dormyer Instruments of Kentland. Elsie enjoyed spending her time going on walks through town, riding her bike, picnics, yard sales with her husband, and Neil Diamond. Her favorite song was obviously “Jesse’s Girl” by Rick Springfield.  

Surviving along with her husband are daughters, Bonnie (husband: Paul) Kamaneroff of Valparaiso, and Karen (wife: Karimar) Rodriguez; brothers, Leslie (wife: Anna) Hoaks of Goodland, and Norman (wife: Dorothy) Hoaks of Otterbein.

Preceding her in death along with her parents is a son, Greg Hislope.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM (EST) Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Remington Cemetery. Rev. Glenn Minick to officiate.

Memorial donations may be made in Elsie’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
