Larry G. Selby, 73, of Monon, passed away at 10:06 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth East Franciscan Health, Lafayette.

He was born April 12, 1944 in Rensselaer to the late Oscar and Edna (Harris) Selby.

Mr. Selby was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.

His marriage was to Marjorie A. Steele on December 6, 1965 in DeMotte, Indiana; she survives.

Larry owned Selby Trucking for most of his working years and was leased to JL Shandy.

Larry liked dirt track and NASCAR racing and was a fan of both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. He enjoyed working on cars and following his grandchildren in their school sports both soccer and basketball.

Surviving with his wife is a son, Jeff Selby and a daughter, Denise Valdizon (husband: Jose) both of Monon and a sister, Ruth Arndt of LaPorte.

Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Chandelle, Andre, and Arianna.

He is preceded in death with his parents by three brothers, Carl, Richard, and Pete and two sisters, Ruby Wicker, and Edith Cooper.
