William Ray “Bill” Goff died on March 18, 2017 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Lafayette, Indiana at the age of 71.
Bill is survived by his sons Sam (April, Children: Abby, Brooke, Zak, Kyle) Goff and Eric (Pam) Goff, his daughter Lisa (Mark) Ciesielski, his granddaughter who he adopted Kimberly Goff, and his two brothers Roy (Carol) Goff, and Bob (Evelyn) Goff. He is preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Goff, his brother Owen (Joanie) Goff, his sister Norma Borem, his parents Owen Goff and Mildred (Courtwright) Goff, and his granddaughter Kaylie Goff.
He was born on August 3, 1945 in Vincennes, Indiana but grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana. He joined the Marines at the age of 18, and anyone who knew him was aware of how proud he was of his military service. He married Dian (Coffin) Goff on June 9, 1967 and they welcomed four children into their lives. They moved to Wolcott, Indiana in 1992 and adopted Kimmi in 2003. After Bill and Dian’s divorce, he resided in Wolcott until his death.
Dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend will be remembered for his stubborn, driven, and witty personality. You could always find him out in his garage building intricate contraptions with a Family Express coffee in his hand and wisdom to be shared in his heart.
Friends may call from 11 am EST until the time of Memorial Service at 12 pm (noon) EST at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home (202 W. School St. Wolcott, IN. 47995) on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of our Marine.
