Lois Norris

November 12, 1937 - March 18, 2017

Lois (Villwock) Norris, 79, of Kentland, passed away on March 18, 2017, as the result of a massive stroke which took the life of this beautiful and thoughtful person. Lois was born and raised in Edwardsport, Knox County, IN, the fourth child of Loren and Lulu (Miller) Villwock. The Villwock children included Reta, Warren, Eldo, Lois, and Joan. Loren, the father, died in 1942 leaving the family in a difficult situation. The family survived by their faith, courage, and strong willpower.

Lois attended school in Edwardsport until a fire destroyed the building. She finished the last two years of high school at Sandborn, graduating in 1955. Next came college at ISTC in Terre Haute. Here she met Ronald Norris on May 30, 1956. They married on December 30 of the same year. After college they moved to Linden, IN where Ron taught music in the school system and Lois was hired to work at Linden State Bank. After three years in Linden, they moved to Kentland, IN where Ron taught and Lois was soon hired to work at the Kentland Bank. Her work ethic was recognized, and she was appointed head of the trust department. She continued in this position until her retirement in 2001.

Lois dearly loved traveling and being with family and friends. She had served as a board member for many years at the Kentland Public Library and George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. Her hobbies included playing bridge, euchre, dominos, Scrabble, and attacking any dandelion that might dare to invade her lawn!

Lois is survived by her husband Ron, and their two children, Carol (David) Kline of Crawfordsville, IN, and Jeffrey (Siobhan Hanna) Norris of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren, Anthony (Lisa) Kline of Overland Park, KS, Joshua Kline of Indianapolis, IN, Rachel Kline of Crawfordsville, and Max Norris of Narberth, PA. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Evan, Landon, and Parker Kline.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church (PO Box 24 Kentland, IN 47951) or George Ade Memorial Health Care Center of Brook, IN.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Share memories and condolences online at
