Ruth E. Robertson, 99, of Brookston, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi.

She was born February 12, 1917 in Brookston to the late Frank and Della (Morgan) Schwartz and attended school in Brookston.

Her marriage was to Millard Robertson and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Mrs. Robertson worked at the Prairie Telephone Company, the Brookston IGA and Farmers State Bank.

She was a long time member of the Brookston United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the Brookston and Monticello Senior Citizens and the White County Republican Women’s Club.

Ruth enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, gardening and spending time with her friends.

Surviving is a son Kenneth A. Robertson (wife: Jan) of Brookston and two sisters, Carol Davis of Pennsylvania and Jan Morton of Orlando, FL.

Ruth loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, Joshua A. Robertson (wife: Roxanne) of Reynolds and Kasey L. Zimpher (husband: Kent) of Battle Ground and her great-grandchildren Cale, Tessa, Kane and Kathryn. She always enjoyed watching them show sheep at the White County 4-H Fair.

Preceding her in death with her parents are two brothers, Frank Schwartz Jr. and Robert Schwartz and two sisters, Jean Monnett and Betty Monnett.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Pastor Devin Cook and Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds to officiate. Interment to follow in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
