Daniel J. "Danny" Stephenson, 61, of Goshen, passed away at 5:15 PM, October 23, 2016 at Goshen Hospital, Goshen IN. He was born March 27, 1955 in Subic Bay, Philippines to the late Thomas and Patricia (McNamara) Stephenson. Danny was the 6th of 9 children.

 

He was a 1974 graduate of Concord High School and went on to have a career in the United States Navy where he served on the USS Theodore Roosevelt 17th Carrier Air Wing. Danny retired from the Navy after 25 years of service in 2001. After his discharge from the Navy he worked as a contractor at Cecil Field.

 

His marriage was to Cindy Amaral on October 10, 2014. She survives. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching the San Francisco Giants.

 

Surviving along with his wife Cindy are his children, Ashley Stephenson of Portland ME, Erica Stephenson of Orlando Fl, and Shannon (Joel) Rocha of Livermore, CA; a granddaughter Linda-Jo; his sisters, Peggy (Patrick) Kelly, Diane (Jenny) Stephenson, Beth Krehn, Lynne (Chuck) Pestow, Kathy (Tom) Essig and Patty (Lou) Vanetta; and a brother, Timmy Stephenson. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Boochy.

 

Preceding him in death with his parents is a brother Tommy Stephenson.

 

Friends may call from 3-6 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Creekside Church of the Brethren (60455 CR 113 Elkhart, IN 46517) in the flower gardens. There will be a private family service following with Pastor Kevin Adams to officiate.

 

The family request in lieu of flowers all memorial contributions in Danny's name be made to the Concord Junior High School Make-A-Wish Foundation.
