Arlene Marie Smith, 96, of Kentland, passed away at 6:10 PM, October 22, 2016 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center of Brook, IN. She was born November 8, 1919 in Corydon, IN to the late Alva W. and Gladys (Mauck) Lang.

Her Marriage was to Charles E. Smith on April 19, 1941 in Corydon. He survives. Arlene was a proud farmer’s wife and help mate. She enjoyed spending her time gardening, quilting, and crafting. She most of all loved time spent with her family.

Surviving along with her husband are four children, Joy (Jeff) Pherson of Monticello, Larry Smith of Colorado, John Smith of Wert, OH, and James (Dianne) Smith of Kentland; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Arlene is also survived by one sister, Winona Eckart of Corydon.

Preceding her in death along with her parents is one bother and one sister.

Friends may call from 10 AM (CST) until the time of Funeral Service 11 AM (CST) Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Covenant Federated Church of Kentland (612 6th St. Kentland, IN 47951). Rev. Wayne Meyer to officiate. Interment to follow in Fairlawn cemetery of Kentland.

Memorial may be made in Arlene’s name to the American Heart Association or the Covenant Federated Church of Kentland.
