Barbara J. Meadors, 85, of Wolcott, passed away at 6:30 AM, March 18, 2016 at White Oaks Health Campus of Monticello. She was born August 6, 1930 in Lafayette to the late Robert and Clara (Vaughan) Lawson. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1949. Her marriage was to Jack Meadors on June 19, 1949 in Monticello. He survives.

 

 

Barbara was a charter member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority Gamma Upsilon Chapter, the Young at Heart Home Ec Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Butterfly Club, Red Hat Society, and the T & C Club. She also worked for several years at Batchledor and N. Smith Jewelry stores of Monticello.

Barbara loved spending the winter months in Naples, FL. Most of all she loved spending her time with family and friends.

 

Surviving along with her husband are children, Steve (Kathy) Meadors of Wolcott, Debbie (Larry) Brown of Wolcott, Roxie (Bill) Kidd of Remington, and Jackie (Mark) Dobbins of Remington; siblings, Betty Lawson-Lord, Patsy (Robert) Manes, Shirley (Jack) Krieg, and Robert (Sharon) Lawson. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 4-8 PM (EST) Monday, March 21, 2016 at Foster-Clapper Funeral home of Wolcott. Funeral Service 11 AM (EST) Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Meadow Lake Presbyterian Church of Wolcott. Pastor Annella McFee to officiate. Interment to follow in Meadow Lake Cemetery.
