Betty (Williman) Homer, 91, of Lafayette, died at 5:15 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Rosewalk Village of Lafayette.

 

She was born on August 2, 1924 in VanWert Ohio, to the late Clarence and Emily Williman. She graduated from VanWert High School and attended the Salvation Army School in New York City where she met Elmer Homer. On February 27, 1948 they were married. He passed on June 10, 1973.

 

Betty dreamed of being a radio recording artist and even cut a record in the mid 1940's. After her husband passed away, she worked at a travel agency, at Marsh Foundation in VanWert OH, and finally as a sorority house mother at Alpha Chi Omega at Purdue University. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing the "gift of gab" with family and friends.

 

Surviving children include daughter Gail (David) Billings of West Lafayette, David (Annette) Homer of Marion, Justin (Angel Arcelay) Homer of Huntington NY, and Emily Homer of Greenbelt MD. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

 

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Robin Homer.

 

Private family services will be held with interment at Woodland Cemetery in VanWert, Ohio at a later date.
