Cory Michael Howerton, 35 of Monon died at 11:15 am, Friday, October 16, 2015 at his home. He was born October 18, 1979 in Anderson to Deborah Lee (Shaffer) Braden and he was raised by his step-father Gary Braden. Cory received his GED in 1999 and attended Ivy Tech College in Logansport. He attended Church of the Heartland in Logansport as well as Monon Community Church in Monon. Cory worked as a Cable Technician and Dog Trainer. He adored animals, was an avid reader, and loved baseball, especially the Cubs! He is survived by his parents, Deborah and Gary Braden of Monon; 2 brothers, Nathan Braden of Lafayette and Luke Howerton of Logansport; grandmother, Dana Conwell of Rensselaer; grandparents, Phyllis and Jerry Bufkin of Remington and Jack and Susie Shaffer of Carmel; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his biological father Paul Howerton. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Monon Community Church, 75 IN-16, Monon, IN 47959. Funeral service 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Monon Community Church with Rev's Don and Mark Newman officiating. Interment to follow at Bedford Cemetery in Monon.
