Robert N. Post, 79, of Brookston, died at 1:40 p.m., October 14, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born April 19, 1936 in Lafayette to the late Roy and Eleanor (Carter) Post. Robert graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on March 8, 1966. His marriage was to Olivia Weis on May 19,1968 in Brookston, IN. She survives Robert was a member of the Wildcat Valley Rifle Club, and the Eagles Lodge of Lafayette. He worked for several years as plant manager at Lafayette Pipe Corporation before retiring from Purdue University in 2003. Robert enjoyed spending his time fishing, shooting target practice at the rifle club, and meeting friends for breakfast on Wednesday mornings. Most of all Robert enjoyed spending time with his family. Along with his wife Olivia, he is survived by children, Dan (Judi) Post of Houston, Texas, Karl (Cindy) Post of West Lafayette, Chris (Charlotte) Post of Findlay, OH, Veronica LaBlanc, Eleanor Osborne, and Cathy Sollars, all of Lafayette. Also Surviving are 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Post and Bill Carter. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Interment to follow at a later date.
