Evelyn McMullan of Kentland, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, Illinois. She was born June 6, 1924 in Newton County, Indiana to the late Curtis and Reba (Whaley) Kindig. She graduated from A.J. Kent High School and Lafayette Business College. Her marriage was to Jesse McMullan in Kentland on August 17, 1947. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2007. Evelyn helped her husband own and operate McMullan Funeral Home for 32 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church, she enjoyed watching Indiana basketball and visiting with family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Jim McMullan of Valparaiso, Indiana and John McMullan (Barbara) of West Lafayette, Indiana; and two sisters Margaret Stonecipher and Shirley Johnson of Kentland. Also surviving are her grandsons Patrick McMullan of Brookston, and Eric McMullan of Valparaiso; and a great grandson Tyler McMullan of Valparaiso. Preceding her in death is a sister, Virginia Simons and a brother, Calvin Kindig. Visitation will be at the Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland from 5-7 pm (CST) on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Funeral services at 11:00 am (CST) on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the funeral home; Rev. Ed van Wijk to officiate. Interment to follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland.
