Donald W. Miller 59, of Fowler, lost his 14 year battle to cancer at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Methodist hospital of Merrillville, IN. He was born on March 1, 1955 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Reuben and Janet (Moser) Miller. He was a graduate of Benton Central High School in 1973. He was married to Priscilla Shepherd on August 3, 2001. She survives. Donald was the President of Farmers Mutual Insurance in Remington. He also worked with Gene Wealing building houses for several years and started farming with his Brother and Father since 1982. Donald enjoyed flying his Ultra Light airplane, golfing, trips to Mexico, and playing cards with friends. Surviving is his mother Janet Miller of Fowler, IN; a daughter, Chasity (husband: Gary) Campbell of Grand Blanc, MI; a son, Jason (wife: Stephanie) Miller of Lafayette, IN; brothers, David and Dale Miller of Fowler, IN; a sister, Diane Ross of Brookston, IN; Three step-children, Greg Shepherd of Shelbyville, IN; Anne Shepherd of Lafayette IN; and Levi Shepherd of Brownsburg, IN. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his father Reuben Miller on November 20, 1987. Saturday, January 10, 2015 friends may call from 1-5pm with memorial service following at 5pm, at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home, of Remington, IN. Pastor Brenda Ludwig of United Methodist Church of Fowler will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
