Delores Philo, 79, lifelong resident of Monon, died at 1:12 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She was born March 22, 1935 in Whiting, IN to the late Jesse and Kathryn Ellison (Lanham). Her marriage was to Eugene Philo on July 22, 1955 in Hammond. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1996. Delores was a member of the Monon Community Church and had worked for Keene Factory in Monon for several years. She loved Elvis Presley, watching soap operas, keeping a clean house, and attending church. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her three sons, Eugene Philo of Monon, Terry Philo of Winamac, and James Philo of Monticello; her brother, Jesse Ellison Jr. (wife: Jackie) of Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of funeral service at 1 pm, Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Monon Community Church with Pastor Don Newman officiating. Interment to follow in Bedford Cemetery of Monon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monon Community Church.
