Robert "Grant" O'Connor, 29, of Lafayette, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Ocala, Florida. He was born June 30, 1985 in Rensselaer, Indiana to Robert O'Connor and Thea (Steelman) Denton. He attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. Grant worked at Palm Chevrolet in Ocala, Florida. He enjoyed skateboarding and attending Purdue University football and basketball games. Grant was known for living life to the fullest and his love for shoes. Surviving along with his parents, is a step father, Jeremy Denton of Lafayette; step mother, Monica O'Connor of Ocala, Florida; five brothers, Scott O'Connor (wife: Samantha) of Brookston, Nick Steelman (wife: Hanna) of Colfax, Joshua LaBarbera of Ocala, Florida; Adam O'Connor (wife: Tracie) of West Lafayette; Justin O'Connor of Ocala, Florida. A sister, Sarah O'Connor of Ocala, Florida. Grandparents Maurice Steelman, and Louanne O'Connor. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Samuel O'Connor; and grandparents, Jeannine Steelman and Donald O'Connor. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Pastor Mark Talbott of the Christian Motorcyclists Association to officiate. Interment to follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Indiana.
