Eilene Antoinette Meding, 52, a lifelong resident of Earl Park, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 24, 1961 in Brook to Antoinette (Zink) Salla and the late Melvin Salla. She was a 1981 graduate of Benton Central High School. Ms. Meding was highly active in the American Legion Auxiliary Post #455 of Earl Park. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Eilene loved spending time with her family and her three children were most important. She was a great mother, sister and friend. She enjoyed spending time with the Auxiliary, watching NASCAR and drinking her Pepsi. Surviving with her mother Antoinette are her children, Sarah Meding (fiancé: Kevin Clute) of West Lafayette, Christopher Meding (wife: Jessica) of Earl Park and Kelly Meding (companion: Daniel Eberhardt) of Fowler; three brothers, Louie "Lou" Salla (wife: Carol) of Attica, Michael Salla (wife: Kimberly) of Florence, KY and Karl Salla of Earl Park; a sister, Jeanette Peck (husband: Troy) of Fowler and a sister-in-law, Cori Salla. Preceding her in death with her father Melvin, are three brothers, Eugene, Cletus and Matthew Salla. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. (EST) Thursday, May 29, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Earl Park; Fr. Rob Bernotas to officiate. Interment to follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Earl Park.
