Herbert E. Ford, 73, of Walton, passed away on March 6, 2014 in Cass Co. due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on October 2, 1940 in Lafayette to Ralph and Wilma (Dyer) Ford and graduated from Brookston H.S. His marriage was to Carolyn Watkins on May 17, 1968 and she survives. Herbert retired from the U.S. Army as an E-7 and also retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving with his wife are his children; Karl Ford (wife: Cathy) of Longmont, CO., Lisa McGrattan (husband: Tim) of Mentor, OH., and Traci Draper of Camden, IN; siblings; Barbara Reed and Gordon Ford (wife: Barbara); his grandchildren, Lauren, Jeffrey, Thomas, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Megan, Ben, and Erin, and great-granddaughter, Jada. Per Herbert's wishes, there will be no services. Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston is entrusted with care. Memorials may be made to the Herbert Ford Memorial Fund.
