Thelma M. Foust, 89, of Brookston, died at 6:40 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at St. Mary's Healthcare of Lafayette. She was born February 17, 1924 in Brookston to the late Roy and Ivy (Wiles) Nichols. She graduated from Brookston High School. Her marriage of 64 years was to David Foust. He survives. She was a lifelong resident of Brookston. Thelma was a homemaker, but during WWII, she cleaned out the gas tanks of the airplanes. She was a great cook, kept a fabulous home, and her life was the Brookston Methodist Church. Surviving with her husband are her two sons, Daniel Foust (wife: Diana) of Lake Zurich, IL., and Kenneth Foust of Brookston, three grandchildren, Jason, Kourtney, and Ryan Foust, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lola Jeffries, and an infant brother. Friends may call from 12 pm (noon) until the time of funeral service at 2 pm, Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home in Brookston. Rev. Devin Cook to officiate. Interment to follow at Brookston IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Brookston Methodist Church.
