Cleora Bell, 100, of Remington, died at 9:21 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Jasper County Hospital of Rensselaer. She was born March 29, 1912 in Burnside, Kentucky to the late Robert Cullen Bell and Nancy Ethel (Fairchild) Bell. Her marriage was to Ray Bell on August 30, 1928 at her mother's home in Burnside, Ky. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1991. She was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church of Burfield, Kentucky prior to moving to Indiana. She retired from Goodland Coil Factory, where she worked in the engineering department making sample coils. Prior to that, she worked as a cook at Woody's Snack Shop and Wright's Restaurant, and she also worked at Nussbaum's Poultry. Cleora enjoyed making crafts and handmade quilts, gardening, and she loved playing cards, rummy cube and BINGO at the Care Center. She also made the best chocolate pie and noodles. Surviving are five children; Gene Bell (wife: Mary) of Sheldon, IL, Betty Malone-Lintner (husband: Larry) of Rensselaer, Judy Luck (husband: Jack) of Remington, Patty Justice (husband: Ken) of Remington and Bob Bell (wife: Paula) of Rensselaer, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters; Helen Marie Bell and Joyce Irene Bell, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, a grandson; Roger Malone, a great-grandson; Avery Bell and premature twin great-grandsons. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) EST Friday, August 24, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Remington. Rev. Randy Sparks to officiate, interment to follow at Remington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Cleora's name to the charity of choice.
