Brenda C. Kemp, 65, of Brookston, passed away at 12:15 a.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 at IU Health Arnett Hospital of Lafayette. She was born October 25, 1946 in Cookville, Tennessee to Samuel Randolph and the late Gladys (Collier) Randolph. She graduated from Brookston High School in 1965 and earned an associates degree in accounting from Ivy Tech, where she was on the Dean's List. Her marriage was to Robert W. Kemp on October 9, 1965 in Lafayette. He survives. She was an accounting clerk at Purdue University before retiring. She enjoyed bowling, watching NASCAR, scrapbooks, crossword puzzles, and reading. She also loved to travel. Surviving with her father and husband are her 3 daughters, Cathy Trine (husband: Reuben) of Attica, Tricia Schreiber (husband: Dave) of Williamsport, and Susan Lawson (husband: James) of Romney; her 3 sisters, Phyllis Johns (husband: Richard), Melinda Shirley (husband: Bob), and Helen Pate (husband: Randy), and her 2 brothers, David Randolph (wife: Diane) and Steve Randolph. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death with her mother are her brother, Bill Randolph; granddaughter, Shyanne Trine, niece, Anita Zook; and nephew, Sammy Kemp. Friends may call from 2-6 pm, Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Funeral Service there at 10 am, July 2, 2012 with Pastor Tom Watt officiating. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America or the American Cancer Society.
