Randall H. Speer, 71, of Delphi, died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the home he shared with his son and daughter-in-law. He was born April 17, 1941 in Brookston, to the late Frank and Beatrice Speer. Frank and Beatrice later divorced and Randall was raised by his father and step-mother, Alice Speer. His marriage was to Ruth "Irene" Perry on August 26, 1961 in Brookston. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2011. Randall did upholstery work most of his life, working the longest time for Bill Gardner Auto Sales. He enjoyed fishing and racing. Surviving is a son; Ricky Speer (wife: Dolly) of Delphi, his step-mother; Alice Speer of Wolcott, three brothers; Chuck Speer (wife: Anetta) of Lafayette, Jerry Speer (wife: Velma) of Reynolds and Larry Speer (wife: Barb) of Florida, and three sisters; Madge Speer of Florida, Bonnie Speer of Tennessee and Sandy Speer of Florida. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Theresa Butler (husband: Curtis), Melissa, Steven and Casey Speer, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Speer, biological mother, Beatrice Speer and a brother, Dwight Speer.
