Patricia Lynn "Patty" Barker, 54, of Monon, died unexpectedly at 2:02 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born September 15, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Frederick and Patricia S. (Draper) Barker. She graduated from Lindblom High School of Chicago in 1974 and attended Loyola University also of Chicago. She lived in Chicago most of her life until moving to Monon in 2000. She worked at Comiskey Park, Encyclopedia Britannica, Wieboldt's Department Store and Lourdes Hats, all in Chicago. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and adored her nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord, and enjoyed reading her bible and listening to spiritual music. Patty cared about the things that mattered most in life. Surviving with her mother are six siblings, Fred Barker (wife: Rosemarie) of Chicago, IL, Kathleen Keating (husband: John) of Monon, Bill Barker (wife: Karen) of Geneva, IL, Linda Buda (husband: Robert) of Hyde Park, NY, Larry Barker (wife: Ellen) of East Hazel Crest, IL, and Susie Piironen (husband: Dave) of Monon, twenty-nine nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Barker. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Monon Community Church (75 West State Road 16 Monon, IN 47959). Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) Thursday, April 26, 2012 also at Monon Community Church with Pastor Don Newman officiating. Interment to follow at Monon Chapel Cemetery.
