Eileen H. Crain, 88, of Kentland, died at 3:24 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of West Lafayette. She had been a resident there for two years. She was born September 18, 1923 in Cardiff, South Wales, Great Britain to the late David S. and Eva H. (Taylor) Lloyd. Her marriage was to George L. Crain on March 12, 1945 in Cardiff, South Wales. She arrived in the United States as a war bride in March of 1946. She lived in Kentland most of her adult life before moving to the Friendship House in Lafayette ten years ago. Eileen owned and operated Kent Café in Kentland for many years, and worked at several restaurants throughout her life. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, making noodles, traveling, raising her three sons, spending time with her family and helping others. Surviving are two sons, Robert L. "Bob" Crain and George "Skeeter" Crain both of Kentland, a brother, John Lloyd of Cardiff, South Wales, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, oldest son, Trevor G. Crain, three brothers, Ronald, Kenneth and Trevor G. Lloyd and two sisters, Marge and Winnie. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland.
