Agnes Baunach, 94, of Remington, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center of Brook. She was born March 18, 1917 in Michigan City to the late Valentine and Mary (Salla) Emge. She graduated from Seafield Schools, and went on to attend a prestigious business school in Kankakee, Illinois, where she received the highest honors. Her marriage was to Herman Baunach on April 15, 1939 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Reynolds. He preceded her in death in 1994. Agnes was a homemaker and owned and operated Baunach Drapery Company. She enjoyed sewing and decorating. Agnes was well versed on all topics, especially healthcare, and was always helping others with alternative healthcare options. Surviving are two children, Joyce Baunach of Chicago, IL and Kenneth Baunach (wife: Rosemary) of Bardstown, KY. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Emge and a sister, Rosella Fenwick. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington with Rev. Thomas Fox officiating.
