Larry E. Crane, 63, of West Lafayette, died at 7:26 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born February 22, 1947 at Holy Cross in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Clarence and Dorothy (Baker) Eckert. He graduated from North Judson San Pierre in 1966. He served in United States Navy during Vietnam from 1972-1974. Mr. Crane was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed bowling, playing chess, and watching old time movies. He also enjoyed sports, and was a fan of the New York Yankees. Surviving is a sister, Judy Atienza of South San Francisco, Ca., and a brother, David Eckert (wife: Linda) of North Judson, In. Visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Indiana Veterans Home Chapel; Chaplain David Hess to officiate. Interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Home Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Larry to the Indiana Veterans Home.
